Ms. Ecem Evin BAYTUN

Ms. Ecem Evin Baytun specializes in corporate and commercial law, competition law, construction law, and energy law. Her expertise encompasses energy and construction projects, dealings with EMRA (Energy Market Regulation Authority) and the Turkish Competition Authority, privatizations, as well as various aspects of corporate law. This includes M&A transactions, joint ventures, share purchase and shareholders’ agreements, distributorship agreements, and security agreements.

Since joining the firm in 2012, Ms. Baytun has represented national and multinational clients in a wide range of sectors, such as energy, media, automotive, defense industry, construction, and information technology. She has played a key role in significant local and cross-border transactions. Recently, she was instrumental in one of Türkiye’s largest airport build-own-operate projects, where she was responsible for drafting and negotiating the EPC Contract and related security agreements.

Ms. Baytun has also led the acquisition processes for a major petroleum/LPG/LNG company group and undisclosed electricity distribution and retail sales companies. Her responsibilities included conducting due diligence, negotiating shareholders' and share purchase agreements, and advising on competition law matters. Additionally, she was involved in the acquisition of a major fuel distributor in Türkiye, overseeing legal aspects, conducting due diligence reviews, and drafting related agreements and documents.

Moreover, Ms. Baytun possesses in-depth knowledge of sophisticated IT projects. She has developed this expertise through her involvement in the supply and installation agreements for integrated IT systems initiated by an electricity distribution company group. This project, completed in 2014, was a pioneering effort in the Turkish electricity distribution network and was recognized as one of the largest IT projects in Europe at the time.
