Ms. Ilgın is a Partner with a focus on energy law, corporate and commercial law. She is specialized in energy, construction and infrastructure projects on the one hand and corporate law matters including M&A transactions, joint ventures, share purchase and shareholders’ agreements on the other hand. She is also experienced in IT projects and swap and derivative financing. She is also a member of GSI Information Systems Board.
Joining the Firm in late 2009, Ms. Ilgın has been representing national and multinational clients in their local and cross-border transactions, from several sectors including energy, media, automotive, defense industry, construction and information technology. She has most recently leaded and successfully closed in 2015 one of the biggest airport build-own-operate projects ever made in Turkey and her work in this project included drafting and holding the negotiations of the EPC Contract and related security agreements thereof. Her recent works include leading the acquisition processes of a major petroleum-LPG-LNG company group and another electricity distribution and retail sale company group, including due diligence processes, negotiation of relevant shareholders’ and share purchase agreements.
She has advised a major Turkish defense industry player in their compound military vehicle agreements and tender processes, both domestic and overseas. Moreover, her in-depth knowledge in IT projects comes from leading the preparation and negotiation processes of supply and installation agreements for the implementation of the integrated IT systems, initiated by an electricity distribution company group, which, finalized in 2014, was the first and fore attempt in Turkish electricity distribution network and cited as one of the biggest IT projects throughout Europe at that time. She also gained significant experience in swap and derivative financing from working on the option agreements and ISDA package for the acquisition of the leading petrochemical company in Turkey by a leading global investment bank.
